Personal Injury Case Results

  • In April 2015, Harry, a 55-year-old factory worker, was riding his motorcycle to work when a careless driver pulled out from a side street and hit him. He suffered from a shattered pelvis, fractured vertebra, numerous internal injuries, and his calf muscle was partially torn off. Harry was unable to return to work because of his injuries. His $550,000 in medical bills were all covered by his wife’s health insurance plan. We waited for Harry to make a relatively full recovery before filing a lawsuit and trying to settle his case. We were able to settle Harry’s case for $1,500,000, none of which will have to go toward medical bills, so that Harry and his wife can resume their normal lives even though Harry isn’t working anymore.

  • Jose was a 32 year old laborer who slipped off a roof during a building renovation he was a part of. His employer and the property owner were both very insistent that the roofing be completed on the day of his fall despite the fact that the weather was quite bad and ice had accrued on the roof. Jose broke his ankle, knee, and wrist, with each injury requiring surgical repair. We forced Jose’s employer to accept his Worker’s Compensation claim, and pursued a claim against the pushy property owner. This case settled for $570,000 and Jose’s Worker’s Compensation claim will remain open with additional bills being paid until he chooses to close it.
  • Jerome was a passenger in his friend’s car when he took a turn too fast in the rain, skidded across the road and struck a telephone pole. He broke his knee and underwent surgery right after the crash. His wound developed an infection and additional treatment was needed to clear the infection. Jerome’s case was settled before we had to file a lawsuit for $300,000.
  • In the summer of 2016, Lola, an 86-year-old retired pianist, was walking her dog when a driver exiting a parking lot didn’t see her and struck her, knocking her to the ground. She was taken to the hospital where they diagnosed her with a broken shoulder that required surgery. For nearly 2 months while she recovered, she was unable to walk her dog, and had to put her dog in a local “doggy day care” at a cost of about $50 per day. When Lola called the insurance company to ask them to pay for the doggy day care, they refused! Then she called us. 6 months later, we settled her case for $250,000.00.

  • Wayne was driving home from work one night when a drunk driver crossed a double yellow line and hit him head on. His injuries were luckily limited to strains and sprains to his back, and he treated with a local chiropractor for about 3 months. Wayne hired a local lawyer to handle his case who advised him to accept the insurance company’s “top” offer of $15,000, which was made nearly 2 years after his crash. Wayne was frustrated and almost took the money when he decided to call us for a second opinion. After a brief conversation, Wayne decided to have us take over his case, and we immediately filed a lawsuit and pursued the drunk driver and her insurance company very aggressively. 6 months later, we settled Wayne’s case for $100,000.

  • In the winter of 2015, Jamie, a 50 year old door-to-door salesman, was bitten by a dog while speaking to a prospective purchaser. The owner of the dog brought him into her house to help tend to his deep arm wound and immediately hollered to her husband to “go put out the warning signs.” Jamie drove himself to the hospital where his wound was packed with gauze and bandaged but couldn’t be stitched because of the amount of flesh ripped away by the dog. It took 12 months for Jamie’s arm to fully heal, and he was left with a noticeable scar. A plastic surgeon told him would cost about $7,000 to fix it and the procedure wouldn’t be covered by his health insurance because it was considered an ‘optional’ surgery. After we got involved, we convinced the dog owners to accept full responsibility for Jamie’s injury and his past and future medical bills. We settled his case much faster than he ever expected. Just 18 months after he was bitten, only 6 months after the wound healed, Jamie’s case settled for $92,000.00.

  • In late winter 2016, Rolando was driving home from work as a crane operator when another driver who made an illegal U-turn and hit the side of his car struck him. Rolando broke his finger and had to wear a splint for 6 weeks and missed time from work. Rather than accept fault and pay for his damages, the other driver and his insurance company tried to blame Rolando for the crash. Rolando hired us after the insurance company stalled and delayed for weeks. The first offer we received after calling the insurance company was $2,000. 10 months later, we settled Rolando’s case for $40,000.

  • In May 2015, Neal was driving down a state country road at 3 am when his pickup truck struck a downed utility pole that had been knocked over by another driver who had lost control of his car and hit it. Neal’s truck was destroyed and he injured his neck. The insurance company for the other car refused to pay for Neal’s truck or accept responsibility for his injuries, instead claiming that this accident was Neal’s fault and he should have seen the downed pole in the middle of the road in the dark at 3AM. We pursued justice ruthlessly and in 10 months forced them to pay for Neal’s truck and took the entire $20,000 insurance policy available.

  • Just before Christmas in 2013, Tom reinjured his back when he was lightly rear ended while driving his taxi. About a month later, he went to his doctor and complained that his pain was getting worse and he needed help. Soon after, he filed for Worker’s Compensation and remained out work for nearly a year while he underwent back surgery. His Worker’s Compensation insurance paid for some of his lost wages and his medical bills and the doctors all related his injury to his accident, but not Allstate. Allstate, the insurance company for the car that hit him, never examined him and never had his records reviewed but based on the minimal damage to his car decided to deny his claim entirely. Tom hired us to fight for him and we settled his case on the eve of trial for the policy limits of $300,000 after refusing to accept even one penny less.
